Building a tiny darkroom

Building a tiny darkroom

In winter 2024, I built a tiny darkroom on a old 5'x7' trailer. The idea was to have a semi-mobile darkroom that would spend most of its time parked in a relatively permanent location. The first step was removing the old stake sides and jacking up the trailer so it would be a level surface to build on.

The next step in the tiny darkroom build was the frame. I bolted 2x4s to the trailer frame, using the same pockets the stake sides had once slipped into. The horizontal and diagonal 2x4s in this photo are bracing to hold the vertical 2x4s in the correct places.

Once the walls were framed, I framed the roof.
